INFO PENTING / IMPORTANT NOTICE
1. Access to H1N1 Vaccine
Vaccine to protect against the H1n1 pandemic flu virus will be available by early November. The first group to get the vaccine will include those with chronic medical conditions, health care workers and pregnant women. As the supply of vaccine becomes more readily available, all others who live, work or go to school in Ontario will be able to get the vaccine at no cost. To expedite access to the vaccine, you may find it helpful to bring with you a document that shows your Ontario address, i.e.: Ontario driver's license, telephone bill, etc.
Most people will get the vaccine through their primary care provider (physician, nurse practitioner, community health centre, etc.): however some public health units will also be providing vaccine clinics. Please go to this website to find your local public health unit: http://www.health.gov.on.ca/english/public/contact/phu/phu_mn.html (English). You will be able tp locate vaccine clinics being offered by the public health unit on the individual health unit website.
For further information and updates, please go to the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care website: www.ontario.ca/flu (English)
